Maintenance of Traffic/Automobile Accident Case: Broward County Circuit Court. Our firm represented the Florida Department of Transportation. This case involved an automobile accident which occurred in an intersection that was under construction. The Plaintiff was the operator of a motor vehicle that collided with a tractor trailer. The allegations as to the Department of Transportation were based on the negligent maintenance of a roadway that was under construction. The Plaintiff sustained massive brain injuries. A crossclaim was asserted on behalf of the Department of Transportation against the contractor who was a defendant in the companion case. During trial, the contractor agreed to indemnify the Department of Transportation, provided us with a defense and reimbursed our fees and costs. This ended our involvement in the case which settled as the trial continued for approximately $6.4 million dollars.
